Two Saddle Types Combine for Ease of Loading and Stability
The Thule 883 Glide and Set Rooftop Saddle Kayak Carrier is the perfect combination of Thule's Hydro Glide and Set-to-go Saddles in one package. The Glide and Set is a complete carrier option that includes everything needed to utilize your existing roof rack to transport a kayak safely and securely. First, once positioned for the approximate width of your boat and mounted on the rear load bar of your roof rack, Thule Hydro Glide saddles utilize their low-friction, felt interior surface to allow for easy movement of kayaks pushed across them from the back towards the front of vehicle racks. Hydro Glide saddles feature a large surface area with six times more contact area than roller-type carriers. Next, the included Set-to-go saddles are installed along the front load bar of your roof rack. Adjustable for maximum hull contact, once kayaks come in contact with them they provide maximum kayak protection against lateral movement and overall transport stability.

The Thule 883 Glide and Set Rooftop Saddle Kayak Carrier also includes all the necessary straps to secure kayaks to the saddles, and bow and stern tiedowns with ratcheting hooks attachments to further secure mounted kayaks to your bumper or tow hook by way of your kayak's grab handles. Simply pull the free end of the tiedown ropes to the desired tightness. Both sets of saddles easily fit Thule standard and Xsporter load bars, as well as Yakima and most factory-installed racks, and the proven universal hardware included makes the entire system easy to transfer from vehicle to vehicle.

About Thule
Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.
